First stop is the Government of Canada's site; Natural Resources Canada, Explosives
Regulatory Division (ERD). This is the regulatory and licensing division
of the Canadian government. All persons wishing to become a Fireworks Supervisor, or a
Pyrotechnician must first attend a course given by ERD and must subsequently
meet basic apprenticeship requirements within the timeframe to become fully

requirements, including an Application
for Event Approval, which must be signed by the local Authority Having
Jurisdiction (usually the fire chief); and must meet your local by-laws
